Hitmen Come Up Short Twice Against Dansville

DANSVILLE, N.Y. — The Horseheads Hitmen dropped a pair of contests to the Dansville Gliders this week, falling 13-2 at home on June 11 before coming up just short in a 12-11 slugfest on June 12.


In a continuation of Thursday’s game, Dansville jumped out early with 10 runs over the first two innings and never looked back. Mason Sanno collected two hits and drove in a run, while Julian Lamper-Turkisher added an RBI for the Hitmen.


The second contest on Friday saw Horseheads battle back offensively with 11 runs on 13 hits. Connor Monroe led the charge with five RBI, while Julian Lamper-Turkisher finished 4-for-5 with an RBI and Mason Sanno scored three runs. The Hitmen rallied with a five-run sixth inning but were unable to overcome Dansville’s late offense as the Gliders walked off with the victory in the bottom of the eighth.


Horseheads will look to bounce back in their next NYCBL matchup.
